On Sunday November 9, 2003, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) had decided to take the world out ofEndurance from his torpor and to awaken the spirits. The 1000 Kilometers of Le Mans would serve as a dress rehearsal before the launch in 2004 of the Le Mans Endurance Series (LMES). Let's dive back into this not-so-distant history, which allowed us to see the emergence of a large part of modern endurance racing as we know it.
