Australian GP – Father and son Doohan reunited in Melbourne for an on-track demonstration

Mick and Jack Doohan will be on track together at the Australian GP.

In Melbourne, Oscar piastri et Daniel Ricciardo will give 100% for their national Australian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, two other Australians will host the stands several times during the weekend. Under the public eye, five-time world champion motorcycle legend Mick Doohan and reserve rider Jack Doohan Alpine, will ride together for the first time.

For the occasion, the father will climb into the saddle of a Honda RC213V to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first of his five consecutive titles, between 1994 and 1998. As for the son, he will take the wheel of the 200 Benetton B2000 piloted by Alexander Wurz and Giancarlo Fisichella and designed at the time in the factoryenstone, today owned byAlpine.

Three demonstrations on the Australian GP program

The “Doohan demonstration” will take place during the Australian GP, ​​between the F1 runs, F2 et F3, Saturday from 9:55 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. (from 23:55 p.m. to 00:20 a.m. French time), from 15:15 p.m. to 15:30 p.m. (from 5:15 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. French time) and Sunday from 13:35 p.m. to 13:50 p.m. (from 3:35 a.m. to 3:50 a.m. French time).

“I’m so looking forward to sharing the track with my dad at Albert Park during the Australian Grand Prix weekend. I will drive the Benetton B200 from 2000, while my father will drive a Moto GP of 2016. It's been 30 years since my father won his first title in 1994. So we will wear replica helmets of the one he had in 1994. I'm super excited to take part in this event. I'm eager to ! ", confides Jack Doohan.
