If the divorce between Red Bull et Renault seemed to be consumed, the French engine manufacturer so much criticized by the Red Bull could represent the only option for the Austrian team in 2016. After the failure of negotiations with Mercedes et Ferrari, Team Principal Christian Horner seems to want to backtrack in an interview given to Sky Sports F1.
« Nothing is officially over with Renault. It's hard to imagine how we're going to move forward, but nothing is impossible in F1 », declared the Briton. “We are working on different scenarios. Bernie (Ecclestone, FOM director) is also very involved. We must find a solution. This team is too good not to play in F1 and many people's futures are at stake."
Red Bull's uncertainty is all the more tangible as the future of Renault is also unclear, the Diamond brand having limited itself for the moment to a letter of intent to take over Lotus F1 Team. “We are waiting to know Renault’s plans. Will they buy Lotus? Will they stop? Everything is mentioned...", added the Briton.
