The manufacturer of the Formula 1, Pirelli, has revealed the different possible strategies for the Brazilian Grand Prix. According to the Italian supplier, the teams must opt for a two-stop strategy in São Paulo, a more efficient choice. The data was able to be adjusted thanks to the Sprint race the day before, which saw the victory of George Russell ahead Carlos Sainz. The soft tires performed very well, while the medium tires had difficulty holding up as experienced. Max Verstappen.
Depending on the degradation of the tires, two options are available to teams on the Interlagos circuit: a Soft – Medium – Medium strategy or a Soft – Medium – Soft strategy. Pirelli therefore believes that starting with red tires is the most logical choice. The first stop should come around the 20th lap.
Pirelli makes it clear that a one-stop strategy would be much slower...but not impossible. In the case of a start on soft compounds, switching to hard tires would then be possible from lap 22.
In terms of the remaining sets of tires, the allocation is almost similar for all drivers. All drivers have at least one set of new soft tires, with the exception ofAlbon and both Haas. Both Aston Martin no longer have new hard and medium tires, unlike the rest of the grid.
As a reminder, Pirelli brought to Brazil the tires from the middle of its range: the C2 (hard), the C3 (medium) and the C4 (soft).
