What future for Räikkönen?

Expected for a time at McLaren, Kimi Räikkönen could find himself without a wheel in 2010. His possible return to Woking is complicated with the possible arrival of Jenson Button alongside Lewis Hamilton.

What future for Räikkönen?

Kimi Räikkönen's only option for 2010 is a train passing under his nose. After rejecting an offer of Toyota ? who has since retired? the Finn is seeing his 'only chance to race for 2010' slip away in favor of the 2009 World Champion, Jenson Button. The rapprochement between Jenson Button and McLaren thus seems to sound the death knell for Räikkönen's hopes.

Without a steering wheel since his ouster from Ferrari for the benefit of Fernando Alonso, the 2007 World Champion would even be faced with a major dilemma: either he does not race in 2010 and collects 17 million euros in compensation from Ferrari, or he continues and his former team only offers him ? 10 million euros. McLaren for its part does not seem ready to offer the 7 million which could close the income gap. Clearly, if Kimi wants to participate in the 2010 season, he would lose money!

Overview from Woking, the Finn's managers could therefore have to look elsewhere for 2010 unless their client decides to put his career on hold.
