We will have to add a 21e chair around the table at BMW Motorsport. Published about two weeks ago, the list of official drivers from the Munich manufacturer is growing. The latter has in fact confirmed the promotion of Valentino Rossi among the factory drivers for the 2023 campaign. The two parties have agreed on an agreement going beyond the Italian's sporting program with Team WRT which notably includes the GT World Challenge, the 24 Hours of Spa and the 12 Hours from Bathurst at the wheel of the M4 GT3.
« I am very proud to become an official BMW driver, it is a great opportunity for me, underlines the Transalpine. I really started racing cars last year and finished my first season with Team WRT who I got on very well with and I'm very happy that the team has chosen BMW M Motorsport as their new partner. I have already had the opportunity to test the BMW M4 GT3 twice and the sensations with the car have been very good."
More than a driver – part of the family!

BMW, however, has not indicated what this new status will offer Valentino Rossi. For the moment, the Doctor is only entered full-time in GT World Challenge with Team WRT and will also compete in the Bathurst 12 Hours as part of theIGTC. With this promotion within the propeller manufacturer, the former motorcycle driver could perhaps claim a place for the next 24 Hours of Nürburgring (May 18-21). To be continued…
