Building on its undeniable success since its rebirth in 2018, theAlpine Elf Europa Cup becomes this year theAlpine Elf Cup Series to establish itself more than ever as the ideal springboard towards the highest levels of GT. After seeing its tenors shine in GT4 or tackle the world ofEndurance, the category is preparing to start the race to succeed Lorens Lecertua.

Three former winners at the start

Titled with Lucas Frayssinet and Lorens Lecertua for the last two years, the Chazel Technologie Course Junior team will aim for a third consecutive crown. To achieve this, Louis Chazel's structure will count in particular on Enzo Geraci, second last year with two successes and eight podiums to his credit.

However, the Héraultais will not be the only competitor in the peloton to have tasted the joys of victory since two former winners will also line up at the start. Both present at Race Cars Consulting, Léo Jousset and Pierre Sancinena will be particularly motivated to be crowned. The first will thus seek to continue the momentum of his double during the final in 2023 while his teammate will be closely observed in his quest for a second title after that acquired in 2018!

Ambitious juniors

Several Juniors (drivers aged under twenty-three) will be present from the opening round in Nogaro to try to shake up the hierarchy. Title holder among the teams, Chazel Technologie Course Junior has notably attracted the services of two ambitious hopefuls in Tom Verdier, crowned in France in the Caterham 420R in 2021, and Mattéo Nomblot, victorious in the Mitjet France Trophy.

After winning the title in his first campaign in the discipline, VPS Racing created by the driver Alpine Endurance Team Matthieu Vaxiviere with Aurélien Panis and Raphaël Serrano will display upwardly revised ambitions. The team has thus renewed its confidence in Sami Dhahri while associating him with Charles Roussanne, crowned last year in the Mitjet France Trophy with the same structure, sponsored by Pierre Gasly, BWT pilot Alpine F1 team.

Other talented contenders will have the firm intention of settling at the forefront, like Enzo Carvalhido (Sport Auto Racing), coming from the French FFSA Tourism Championship, and the protégés of Schumacher CLRT Racing Team. Among them, Lukas Papin will be keen to demonstrate his progress while his teammate Gaspard Simon will wish to confirm his successful transition to automobiles by shining at the wheel of the A110 Cup.

Challengers in search of success

Introduced last year for drivers aged between twenty-three and forty-four without any significant track record, the Challengers category is enjoying growing success by attracting competitors from all walks of life.

Having gained momentum in 2023, Thibaut Bossy (Herrero Racing) and Pierre-Laurent Figuière (Chazel Technologie Course) will use their experience to succeed Adrien Catelin. They will nevertheless have to face formidable new opponents, including Florian Coruble (Chazel Technologie Course Junior), from the Clio Cup and aiming for a rise as rapid as that of Léo Jousset within the pyramid proposed by Alpine Racing.

After distinguishing himself in the GT4 European Series, Sandro Perissoutti (Code Racing Development) will also be one to follow closely, as will Clément Berlié (VPS Racing), seen in Mitjet and GT4. The field will also welcome the French voice of Formula 1, Julien Fébreau (Chazel Technologie Course), present this season at Nogaro and Spa-Francorchamps.
