Denny Hamlin wins at Michigan

Denny Hamlin did not lead for many laps, as he took the lead after the final round of pit stops. The fifth yellow flag of the race was displayed when Dale Earnhardt Jr (Hendrick Motorsports) encountered the wall a little too closely.

La Toyota #11 stood out ahead of the #17 Ford of Matt Kenseth (Roush Fenway Racing) and the #99 Ford of Carl Edwards (Joe Gibbs Racing). Denny Hamlin managed to keep his place after a poor restart from the Roush Fenway Racing driver. “I’m happy for the team”, comments the winner. “We were very strong in some races. Oddly enough, we may not have been as fast here, but our strategy proved effective. »

Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing) stands out by finishing fourth in the race ahead of Cartl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing), who retains the lead in the Sprint Cup with 18 points ahead of Kevin Harvick (Richard Childress Racing). Jimmie Johnson fell three places in the standings (5th position) after a race destroyed from the start. The Hendrick Motorsports driver lost control of his No. 48 Chevrolet at the very start of the race.
