In an economic context made even more complicated by the crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the question of costs in motorsport is coming back to the forefront more than ever.
In a GT3 category where this parameter has continued to grow in recent years, SRO Motorsports intends to work hard to maintain the success of its flagship discipline.
Several avenues for reflection will be addressed following the 2020 season:
– One Silver driver per car
– Reduction in the number of team personnel on circuits
– Strict control over having only one truck per car
– Only allow heating blankets at the 24 Hours of Spa
– Reduce the number of tires where possible, and potentially at the 24 Hours of Spa
– Impose a single fueling system for two cars, with restrictions to prohibit teams from circumventing this by using different licenses
– Modification of pit stop rules, with changing tires during refueling
“Cost reduction is one of our priorities. » hammered out Stéphane Ratel, president of SRO Motorsports. Let's trust him to find common ground with all the teams involved in his series.
