Team WRT reveals its strengths for the defense of its titles

Team WRT is arriving in force for the 2022 GT World Challenge Europe season. Title holders thanks to the coronation of Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts among the drivers in particular, the Belgian structure intends to defend its crown and in style this year.

In Sprint Cup as in Endurance Cup, Team WRT will enter 5 Audi R8 LMS to keep the 5 titles (Drivers and Teams overall and in Sprint, and Teams in Endurance Cup) won last season.

On the No. 30 entered in Silver, Benjamin Goethe and Thomas Neubaeur, lined up throughout the season in Sprint, will be joined by Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer during the Endurance rounds (Imola, Paul-Ricard, 24 Hours of Spa , Hockenheim and Barcelona).

Diego Menchaca, Lewis Proctor and Finlay Hutchinson will share the No. 31 Audi for the Endurance events. Concerning the Sprint, only the last one has been confirmed for the 2022 financial year. Vincent Bosse's team plans to reveal the 2nd driver later.

Reigning drivers' champions, Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts have been retained in the ranks of Team WRT. The Belgians will be supported by South African Kelvin van der Linde during the Endurance Cup races in the No. 32.

Concerning the No. 33, Team WRT decided to vary its crews by presenting two different ones. For the Sprint Cup, Christopher Mies and Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer will take turns in the Audi R8 while Cup Ryuichiro Tomita, Arnold Robin and Maxime Robin will prove themselves in Endurance.

But the one that attracts our attention the most is No. 46 on which we will find Valentino Rossi ! Recently retired from MotoGP, the Italian immediately converted to motorsport, one of his great passions outside of two-wheelers, by setting up a complete program in GT World Challenge. Associated with Frédéric Vervisch in the Sprint, he Dottore will see Nico Müller join the tandem for the Endurance events.
