12 Bathurst 2024 Hours Ranking, Qualifying:

  • The 12 Hours of Bathurst (Australia) marks the start of the 2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge season (IGTC) in Oceania. At the end of the world, it was BMW, Team WRT and Sheldon van der Linde who were the fastest during qualifying, held this Saturday February 17.
  • The South African driver achieved pole position a few moments after beating his teammate Dries Vanthoor in the game of…. Rock-paper-scissors, to find out who would drive the BMW M4 GT3!

  • “Coming back to Bathurst and driving on this circuit is a great honor for sure,” said Sheldon van der Linde. Being on pole for my second race at Bathurst is unexpected. My brother (Kelvin) is there too, trying to catch up with me in the race. The pressure is there. My teammates have done an outstanding job so far. As you can see, there are stone chips on the side of the car, I attacked! I'm very happy with my lap, I didn't make any mistakes and I think it's a very good car for the race. »
  • On the first line, we will find the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo from two Australian Supercars specialists, Broc Feeney, Will Brown and Canadian Mikaël Grenier. Maro Engel, Felipe Fraga and David Reynolds (Mercedes) will start from 3rd place, ahead of Porsche 911 GT3 R from Manthey-Racing driven by Laurens Vanthoor, Ayhançan Güven and Matt Campbell.
  • Author of the record for the lap of the Mont Panorama circuit in Bathurst a few hours before with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in “extreme” version, the Frenchman Jules Gounon will seek to achieve a third consecutive victory at the 12 Hours of Bathurst in the company of Luca Stolz and Kenny Habul. The trio will start from 5th place on the starting grid.
  • The start of the 12 Bathurst 2024 Hours is scheduled for 19:30 p.m., mainland France time and will be followed by a live video on AUTOhebdo.fr.
