Nascar – Anthony Kumpen from the trip to Daytona

Anthony Kumpen will be entered in the No. 46 Chevrolet Camaro to compete in the PowerShares QQQ 300 on February 20 at Daytona as part of the Xfinity Series. The 2014 champion of the Nascar Whelen Euro Series is the first driver from the European Championship to race on the Florida oval. The 37-year-old Belgian has already tasted the second category of Nascar by participating in three races in 2015: at Iowa Speedway (28th), in Phoenix in Arizona (24th) and at Homestead Miami in Florida (27th).

“This is all possible because of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and I am grateful. I would also like to thank everyone involved in this project, whether my sponsors or Nascar. I am the first NWES driver to race at Daytona and I hope younger drivers follow my path through the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series?, commented Anthony Kumpen.

Anthony Kumpen will then try to regain his European title in the Nascar Whelen Euro Series with the PK Carsport team. “During our first season, we won all the titles, but in 2015 we did not obtain the results we hoped for. It?s important to win the EuroNASCAR title to receive all the support to go to the USA. We will do everything to obtain it », added the Belgian. “We want to do more races in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, but we are thinking about road courses in the summer. But first of all, we want to approach the European Championship in the best possible way. »
