NASCAR – Kevin Harvick beats Team Penske

Kevin Harvick is in good shape this 2014 season. The driver of the Stewart-Haas Racing will emerge victorious from a duel with Penske drivers Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski. The driver of the No. 4 will strike a big blow, particularly in the second part of qualifying with a new lap record, just before advancing to Q3.

During this last part of qualifying, Logano and Keselowski monopolized the first row until the very end of this last part of the session, before Harvick again slapped him with a 27″799, enough to dislodge the two Ford Fusion Penske . And proof of the good health of the Stewart-Haas Chevrolets, the four cars will start from the Top 10 with Kurt Busch 6th, Tony Stewart 8th and Danica Patrick 9th.

On the Hendrick side, no car in the top 10. The team's first Chevy SS will start in 13th position with Jeff Gordon just ahead of reigning champion Jimmie Johnson. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start in 22nd position. Disappointment also for the Toyota. If the Fords and Chevrolets monopolize the top of the grid, the first Japanese only appears in 15th position with Brian Vickers (Michael Waltrip). Joe Gibbs suffered with only Kyle Busch in Q2.
