  • Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) is the man in form on the short tracks at the moment. Winner for the first time of the season a fortnight ago at Bristol, the driver of the Toyota Camry No. 11 did it again this Sunday in Richmond, where there was no shortage of events.
  • As usual on a short track, there were contacts and spins, like the door-to-door duel between Martin Truex Jr. (Joe Gibbs Racing) and Kyle Larson (Hendrick Motorsports). The latter also crossed paths with Bubba Wallace (23XI Racing) and the duel ended with a spin for the person concerned. An obstacle course from which Denny Hamlin fell through the cracks.

Wet, night and overtime… The perfect recipe for a spicy evening

  • At home, the one who is still chasing his first crown has always placed himself well and when it was necessary to make the right stop at the right time at the end of the race, he and his team responded. A “clutch” pit-stop, as the English say, which propelled him into the lead just before the two-lap extension.
  • Behind, Hamlin held on to win by a little more than two tenths over Joey Logano (Penske). “ It is above all a team victory, he smiled under the lights of Richmond since the event ended after 22 p.m. (local time). Every member of the team did a fantastic job during the stops. They've been great since the start of the year. It's great to be able to race and have a team like this in the pit lane »
  • Booed in Bristol a fortnight ago, Denny Hamlin was this time acclaimed at home. This victory marks his 5e in Richmond, the 53e of her career. After a difficult start to the campaign, the driver of the No. 11 Camry is freed from the weight of victory and appears in good shape for the future. What if 2024 was finally the right one?
