Hamlin wins in Texas

Denny Hamlin (Toyota) signed his second victory of the season at Texas Motor Speedway after his success at the Daytona 500. After winning the second segment, the Joe Gibbs Racing resident took the advantage, taking advantage of a contact from his teammate Kyle Busch with the wall while the 2015 champion was still well on his way to achieving the sweep.

Despite several errors with missed refueling, Denny Hamlin won with almost 3 seconds ahead of the Fords of Clint Bowyer and Daniel Suarez, with Erik Jones taking fourth place. The driver of the No. 11 Camry also offers his team the 4th success of the year with Kyle Busch's two victories.

Jimmie Johnson finally got a good result by placing the first Chevrolet in the Top 5 ahead of his teammate William Byron after taking pole. Kyle Busch was only able to salvage a tenth place behind the Fords of Aric Almirola and Kevin Harvick.
