Nascar – Kyle Busch joins the list in Atlanta

Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) won his second victory on the Atlanta oval during the night, the 28th of his career, by winning at the end of the AdvoCare 500. With this fourth success achieved this season, the pilot of the Toyota No. 18 ties Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) while Matt Kenseth (Joe Gibbs Racing) remains in the lead with five first-place finishes. The winner managed to take the lead after the last burst of stops and maintain the advantage over Joey Logano (Penske Racing). The driver of the No. 22 Ford was the main leader of the race after regaining control of the event following Clint Bowyer's (Michael Waltrip Racing) engine explosion. Martin Truex Jr (Michael Waltrip Racing) completes the top three ahead of Kurt Busch (Furniture Row Racing) and Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing).

Before competing in the Richmond race, the last event of the regular season before the start of the Chase, seven drivers are assured of a place in the fight for the title: Jimmie Johnson, Clint Bowyer, Kevin Harvick (Richard Childress Racing), Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing) and Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports) who will finish at least as a wilcard. Note that the five-time Sprint Cup champion's black streak continued with two contacts relegating him to four laps behind the winner. If the Hendrick driver retains the lead in the Championship, things are going badly for Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing). The reigning champion retired due to engine problems while leading the race. The driver of the No. 2 Fusion drops to 15th position in the Drivers' standings and still has no victory this year.
