In the space of two weeks, Dorian Boccolacci found the key. “Only” third and second in Barcelona, the Cannes native was not satisfied with his qualification in Catalonia. This Saturday at Magny-Cours, the CLRT driver made up for it and in what way! With 0”281 ahead of his runner-up, Marvin Klein (TFT Racing), the wearer of the No. 98 signed his first pole with his new team.

« We started working together this winter and it's really cool to achieve this result, he congratulated himself at the end of the session. We lacked some in qualifying during the first race, this is an area where we needed to progress and we did it. And twice more! »

In the season opener, Dorian Boccolacci seemed to have a very good race pace. But the former Martinet by Alméras driver never managed to get rid of Alessandro Ghiretti (Martinet by Alméras), determined to win his first PCCF race. This Saturday in Magny-Cours, Mouth already has his plan in mind so as not to relive the same scenario. “ I need to get off to a good start. The straight is not very long, which is an advantage if I get off to a good start. Then I will have to stay ahead until the end. » If he manages to put all this into practice, he could offer himself his first success with CLRT.

Important pole for the C2

Even if it is for the moment " only focused on today's race », Dorian Boccolacci has also put himself in the best possible condition for tomorrow's race. Indeed, rain is expected on Sunday for the C2. Starting from pole position is therefore a significant advantage for the Riviera. Conditions that the drivers already faced this Friday during FP1.

« We got our bearings without taking too many risks because we don't often ride in the wet. In racing, everything is totally different, whether it is the quantities of water or the traffic on the track. We will carefully analyze the way we rode in FP1 to improve. » Before knowing what the weather will be like during the C2, Dorian Boccolacci has a first mission: to win the C1.
