Last year, race 1 of the Porsche Carrera Cup France at Magny-Cours was disrupted by a crash at the start. Starting fourth, Ugo Garil (CLRT) had stalled on the grid and, behind, several drivers had crashed into him. Among them, Maxence Maurice. The pilot IMSA LS Group Performance then missed the next two rounds to recover from this incident.

A year later, he is back in Nièvre to participate in the second round of the 2023 season. “ We never forget, we put aside, he revealed before the start of the weekend. I have experience, I have seen others, it's part of our sport. There is always a little apprehension but when the lights go out, I won't think about it. » Rather than worrying about riding again at Magny-Cours, Maxence Maurice wants to take the opportunity to get back into the match, after three difficult days in Barcelona during the opening of the championship.

« We can do much better! We arrived in Catalonia with few kilometers so we knew we weren't going to be there right away. We must try to rectify that here. At Magny-Cours, I am able to make a little difference. We'll have to get back into the swing of things quickly. »

The 2021 Am champion can also count on his new teammate, Louis Perrot. With the help of the driver entered in Pro, the wearer of No. 59 is progressing well. “ We often cross-check our data, this allows me to use more settings. We are going further and moving in the right direction. » All that remains is to show it from free practice 1 this Friday at 11:10 a.m.
