Audi has confirmed for 2022. This should delight you…
Of course, it's great to be able to continue working with a big manufacturer like Audi. I love the task I have been given to develop the RS3 LMS and the future GT3. On a sporting level, I don't hide a certain frustration, I would have liked to have done better in 2021. But a technical problem with the car, which we detected a little late, really ruined life last year.
What are your ambitions in 2022?
We saw with Fred Vervisch's meteoric end to the season that we had a great car and that we are well able to play up front. We are not going to hide, in 2022 Audi wants both WTCR titles. On a personal level, I want to be the Audi driver who will be fighting for the title.
The 2022 WTCR calendar is tempting with beautiful posters…
It's true that the schedule is really nice with the return to Pau in particular. However, I see a big downside with the clash of the Budapest round with the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I have never hidden my ambition to get back behind the wheel of a prototypeEndurance, it’s really a driving style that I like. With this date (11-12 June 2022. Editor's note), I have several opportunities that risk falling through. I hope the WTCR organizers can change it.
