Young Ella, aged 13, took part this weekend in the first round of the Champions of the Future Academy championship. Entered in the OK-N Junior category, Häkkinen won in the second race of the weekend. After crossing the line in second place, she benefited from a penalty imposed on Australian James Anagnostiadis. The latter was indeed riding with an “incorrect position of his front fairing” and must therefore be content with the third step of the podium. On Saturday, Häkkinen finished in 14th position.
Now signed under a Monegasque license, Ella Häkkinen began her career in 2023, in Italy. She was not the only “girl of” entered this weekend in her category, since Victoria Farfus was there. The daughter of the official BMW driver had to settle for 28th place on Saturday, and 23rd on Sunday.
In the higher category, OK-N Senior, it was the Spanish Luna Fluxa who dominated the weekend. The young protégé of Mercedes won both races, notably achieving the best time in the second race. We also found Bernardo Bernoldi, the son of the former pilot of Formula 1 Enrique Bernoldi, in this category.
