Dakar 2024, Stage 5 – Sébastien Loeb penalized, Lucas Moraes in difficulty!

In a short 100% dunes special, Sébastien Loeb missed a way-point and found himself more than 40 minutes behind leader Yazeed Al-Rajhi in the general classification. Nasser Al-Attiyah wins the stage.

  • Drama on the road to Dakar 2024! Sebastian Loeb and Fabian Lurquin (Bahrain Raid
  • The Alsatian driver and his Belgian navigator thus lost 21'13" on the winner of the day, the Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah and the Frenchman Mathieu Baumel (Prodrive). Here they are rejected more than 43 minutes behind the leaders in the general classification, Yazeed Al-Rajhi and Timo Gottschalk (Toyota)!
  • Another contender for the podium, Lucas Moraes (Toyota) was delayed by an accident at the start of the stage. The Brazilian, winner of the third stage, lost more than 27 minutes. He falls out of the top 5, just like Sébastien Loeb.

Failing to see the Audi disappear after 3 days of racing, perhaps Nasser Al-Attiyah decided to take care of it personally but a dangerous game!!
