How Pirelli experienced its last Safari

Pirelli's tenure is coming to an end. While the Italians will hand over to a new manufacturer in 2025, they last supplied the tires to Rally1 and Rally2 in Kenya. For these tires, the African adventure began several months ago.

When a round of the world championship starts, everything has already been in place for several days. Whether for the teams involved in the competition, the technical partners and the suppliers, including Pirelli, the event started well before the first special was launched. Designated as sole manufacturer of WRC in 2021 for a period of four years, Pirelli had to take up the challenge of the hybrid with powers occasionally reaching up to 500 horsepower.

Being able to draw on enormous experience, the Transalpines have had to adapt to regulations which may seem aberrant, but which are guided by the desire to contain costs.
