Returning to full-time competition in 2022, Craig Breen had started his season correctly with a podium at Monte-Carlo behind Sébastien Ogier and Sébastien Ogier. The two Tricolores contented themselves with a partial program, the Irishman was then expected among the contenders for the title since the Ford Puma hybrid worked wonderfully on the icy roads of the Monegasque classic. But the Waterford native quickly realized the facts.

His machine ultimately less competitive subsequently, Craig Breen experienced an eventful campaign with a series of mechanical problems and especially errors which cost him dearly. Quickly excluded from the fight for the title, he was content with an additional podium in Sardinia and a 7e place in the championship 171 points behind champion Kalle Rovanperä. A disillusionment for the Irishman who left immediately M-Sport to bounce back at Hyundai where we hope to see him regain his form.

« Craig had a tough year, but he's a great driver for a team, point Julien Moncet, deputy director of Hyundai Motorsport. I'm sure we can help him get back on the right path."

The French leader who also enlisted the services of Esapekka Lappi, who came from Toyota, is counting on its two new weapons to stand up to the Japanese in 2023. “ They can do comparisons on gear ratios, things like thatHe says. This can also be interesting for the hybrid strategy and it can help us understand if we are working in the same way. Of course, they don't know everything about the cars they were driving this year, but it will be very interesting to hear their feedback on our car."
