Ten years. Ten years since WRC had not gone to the other side of the world to argue Rally New Zealand. During the last edition contested in 2012, Sébastien Loeb was only “eight-time” world champion and Sébastien Ogier had not yet won the first of his eight world crowns.

This year, the situation is completely different. Only Sébastien Ogier is among the entrants. Back after almost 3 months of absence from the WRC, the Gapençais could take advantage of his good position in the starting order to immediately invite himself into the fight for victory. However, the Habs will have to be attentive to the Hyundai for example who remain on 3 consecutive victories (Finland, Belgium and Greece).

In the clan Toyota, Kalle Rovanperä will also try to stop the bleeding. After a bad series, the Finn once again has the opportunity to put an end to the championship. By scoring 8 points more thanOtt Tänak, the leader will thus secure his first world champion title.

Concerning the sportsman, the weekend promises to be very busy and especially for us French spectators because who says New Zealand says enormous time difference. If SS1 is scheduled for 7:08 a.m. (French time) this Thursday, you will have to wait until the evening in France (SS2 at 21:33 p.m.) to see the show begin in earnest. Everything will then happen at night for us since the departures on Friday and Saturday (Saturday and Sunday in New Zealand) are respectively scheduled for 21:08 p.m. and 23:32 p.m. (French time).
