The Core Autosport team returns in IMSA in 2021 with an LMP3. Team owner Jon Bennett will come out of retirement to race with his long-time partner Colin Braun in the Ligier JSP320. The pair rode together starting in 2012 and racked up five team titles and three Prototype Challenge drivers, in addition to two overall victories in 2018. “I'm really excited to be back with Core and Jon,” commented OClin Braun. “This team has been family to me and I can’t wait to work with them again. »

Core Autosport ends its lease with the Porsche Official GTs, which are withdrawing from the American series. The IMSA championship welcomes LMP3s for the first time from the 24 2021 Hours of Daytona, to compensate for the low number of cars entered in Dpi, LMP2 and GTLM.
