The night slowly begins to dissipate on the Le Mans circuit as the green flag is waved after 37 minutes of safety car regime. Allan McNish takes the lead on the No. 18 R2, four seconds ahead of the No. 18 R1 of André Lotterer. The #4 Audi is one lap behind in third position ahead of the #12 Rebellion Racing Lola driven by Nicolas Cheers.

Ryan Dalziel leads the LMP2 class in the No. 44 Starworks Motorsport HPD. There Porsche 911 No. 77 of the Felbermayr Proton is falling in the rankings and its retirement has just been made official after 184 covered laps. There Ferrari 458 n°57 of the GTE Am returns to the pits. Krohn Racing occupies third place behind the #50 Corvette from Larbre Compétition and the #67 Porsche fromIMSA Matmut performance.

Allan McNish gives way to Dindo Capello in the No. 18 R2, leaving first place to the No. 1 Audi of André Lotterer. Roman Rusinov spun and had to let the peloton pass. The Russian returns to the pits and gives his place to Harold Primat.
