A new Rallycross team with a female driver on board for the first time

The history of Rallycross is about to be written in 2022. For the first time since the inauguration of the world championship in 2014, a driver will commit to a complete program, within a brand new team what's more. Young Swede Klara Andersson (22), Swedish Rallycross champion, joins the ranks of CE Dealer Team for the coming season, alongside multiple winner Niclas Grönholm.

We will have to count on CE Dealer Team in the years to come

New team on the starting grid, CE Dealer Team has just announced its participation in the world championship, with a commitment over several seasons and the desire to advocate diversity within its sporting project. This is why the Swedish team turned to Andersson, the rising star of Rallycross. Because beyond her gender, which would be very simplistic to summarize it, the young Scandinavian pilot is a real gem in her discipline, winning the honorary title of vice-champion in the junior category in 2020, before lifting the prestigious national trophy. The following year, in the senior category, and against very seasoned drivers.

Alongside him, CE Dealer Team will hire a driver who is also well accomplished in the world championship, namely Niclas Grönholm, six times winner of events in the category, at only 25 years old. The Finn was even very close to the title in 2019, despite missing two events at the time. He will also finish the 2021 season on the final podium, his best result so far.

Led by PWR RX – a sister company of multi-time Scandinavian Touring Champion PWR Racing – and experienced team principal Jussi Pinomäki, the CE Dealer Team will join the ranks of a championship already well-stocked with teams. All teams are also in the final stages of developing their fully electric cars.

“I am very proud to become the first female World RX driver for a full season, it is by far the most inspiring thing I have done in my life, confides the young Swede. I have a lot to learn, but my long-term goal is to become the first female rallycross world champion.

Although I have rallycross experience, World RX and the impressive 500kW electric beasts we will be racing are new to me and none of us expect to get anything for free. We have a lot of work to do to get back to the top. »

The 2022 season will begin at the historic Höljes circuit, in Sweden, on July 2 and 3, in a championship which includes 9 events in total – Germany, Norway, and twice, Latvia, Portugal and the Belgium.
