In fact, the latter was the victim of a road accident before the start of SS17. The Frenchman was hit on the right side of the car and competed in the first two stages with a badly damaged car. Although he managed to finish 7 seconds behind Elfyn Evans during SS18, Sébastien Ogier is now 2nd overall, 2 seconds behind the Welshman.
