Neuville held on in Argentina

Thierry Neuville takes his second consecutive victory by winning the Rally Argentina ahead of his teammate Andreas Mikkelsen. Sébastien Ogier takes the podium at the last minute.

Neuville held on in Argentina

Thierry Neuville wins for the second time Rally of Argentina after his victory in 2017, obtaining his second consecutive success after the Tour de Corse. The Belgian won with a good lead over his teammate Andreas Mikkelsen who gave the double to Hyundai.

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) completed the podium taking advantage of a puncture from Kris Meeke (Toyota) in the Power Stage. The Northern Irishman lost by 1”4 while the six-time champion WRC won the last bonus stage for a tenth ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota), followed by Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo (Hyundai) and Ott Tänak (Toyota).

 

 

Jari-Matti Latvala completed the Top 5 with less than 6 seconds ahead of Dani Sordo who lost two places in the last stage due to a lack of pace. Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) finished 7th ahead of Ott Tänak who took over Mads Ostberg (Citroën) on the last course, the Norwegian winning in WRC 2 Pro. Pedro Heller (Ford) completes the Top 10 by winning WRC 2.

 

 

Thierry Neuville will arrive at the Rally Chile in two weeks with a ten-point lead over Sébastien Ogier. Ott Tänak finds himself 28 points behind the Belgian. Hyundai also consolidates its leadership position in the Manufacturers' Championship by ahead of Toyota by 37 units, the Japanese brand having a 3-point lead over Citroën.
