Rally Belgium – Neuville lined up in Ypres

Le rally of Ypres (Belgium, from June 21 to 23, 2018) will welcome a prestigious crew for its 54th edition, composed of Thierry Neuville et Nicolas Gilsoul. The Belgian pair will evolve on a Hyundai i20 in the R5 category, aligned with the support of Hyundai Motorsport and Hyundai Belux, the national importer of the Asian manufacturer.

The vice-champions of the world rally (WRC) and 2017 had already driven on the asphalt of Ypres with an identical model last season, without being able to reach the finish due to going off the track while they were in the lead.

“Our previous participation in the Ypres Rally was not a success despite the very fast times that we were able to set. This year, the WRC calendar will work in our favor and allow us to prepare more ideally. I am really motivated to offer a great result to our Belgian supporters”, confides Thierry Neuville.

In 2017, spectators noticed a colorful decoration to say the least on the i20 R5. An initiative that will probably be renewed. “We are thinking of following up on our 'Back in Town' operation last year. The look of the car will again be determined by the project. But we will communicate later on this operation”, explains the communications manager of Hyundai Belux, William Meerschaut.
