Ogier: Ford's lack of reaction is disappointing for M-Sport

Sébastien Ogier spoke to AUTOhebdo after the incredible 2018 season at the end of which the Gapençais won his 6th consecutive coronation at the Rally from Australia.

The Frenchman will now turn the page on M-Sport with whom he evolved for two seasons at the wheel of a vehicle which was not the best in the field but with which he was able to continue his harvest of titles.

“(Malcolm Wilson, the director of M-Sport) is even more frustrated than me to have put so much effort into Ford for so many years and ultimately to get so little benefit from it. This should have served as a springboard for Ford to invest more, but even then, they did not react. It's disappointing for him. In my place, he would have done the same”, confided the six-time champion WRC to AUTOhebdo.

Sébastien Ogier is now preparing to become the new standard of Citroën which lost Sébastien Loeb for the benefit of Hyundai.

“There’s something to write a cool story about. But my choice was dictated by performance. I think there is potential (team and car. Editor’s note) which has not been fully exploited recently”, he said.
