Sébastien Ogier carries out the right operation in Türkiye

We had to go back to Argentina 2015 and a Kris Meeke – Mads Ostberg double to find traces of a Citroën Racing double in WRC. A lean period for the chevron brand erased this Sunday in Turkey with the triumph of Sébastien Ogier and Esapekka Lappi.

The reigning world champion, author of a perfect day yesterday, with an ideal choice of tires at the start of the stage, mastered the last stage perfectly, gradually widening the gap on his teammate Lappi, author of a small error in SS16, but having indicated from the start that he would not attack too much, aiming above all for a double.

This was done at the end of the Power Stage, with Ogier performing well in the championship after the setbacks of his rivals for the title. Ott Tänak (Toyota) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).

Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) completes the podium of this Rally of Türkiye ahead of Teemu Suninen (M-Sport Ford). Dani Sordo (Hyundai) follows in 5th position ahead of the Toyota Yaris of Jari-Matti Latvala and Kris Meeke.

Thierry Neuville, who went off the road on Saturday and was relegated to more than 4′, finally finished 8th ahead of Pontus Tidemand (M-Sport Ford). Ott Tänak, forced to retire yesterday between SS8 and SS9 following an electronic unit failure, played for the points in the Power Stage this Sunday, saving the tires as much as possible.

Note that the Power Stage was won by Ott Tänak (Toyota), the latter winning the five bonuses awarded to the winner of this special ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), Sébastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) and Teemu Suninen (M -Sport Ford).

In WRC 2 Pro, Gus Greensmith seemed to be heading quietly towards victory, but the Briton rolled over after crossing the finish line on SS16. The Greensmith – Edmondson tandem, unhurt in the accident, was finally able to continue and won the category, its second success after the Monte-Carlo Rally.

In WRC2, Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Skoda Fabia R5) won, despite a broken driveshaft in SS16 and a Power Stage contested at reduced speed.

In the Drivers' championship, Ott Tänak still leads the debates with 210 points, 17 points ahead of Sébastien Ogier (who was 40 behind before Turkey). Thierry Neuville has 180 points, 30 points behind Tänak.

Among Manufacturers, Hyundai is in the lead with 19 points ahead of Toyota (314 against 295), Citroën in 3rd position with 259 points.
