Since 1986, GT2i has equipped motorsport enthusiasts by distributing the most prestigious brands on the planet and manufacturing its own equipment. For enthusiasts, GT2i has become in 35 years an iconic brand, known and recognized throughout the world, whose growth has accelerated in recent years thanks to e-Commerce, the development of specific products and new establishments in Europe .

At a time when many managers are selling their companies, the “bosses” of GT2i have made a diametrically opposite choice. “GT2i's trademark is expertise, advice, proximity, professionalism and passion,” explains Yves Maurel, co-director of GT2i. Even though we received many offers to buy the company, we chose not to sell it. In the interest of our customers, we prefer to preserve our values by transmitting GT2i to our employees.”

From now on, working at GT2i means more than being a “simple” employee: employees become partners, shareholders of the capital of their company and, therefore, even more involved in the success of their common project. “We are opening the group's capital to our employees because we are convinced that this is the key to improving our products and our quality of service. Our success is based on the satisfaction and loyalty of our customers,” explains Richard Thiery, co-manager of the group.

An already excellent quality of service, with GT2i benefiting from one of the best ratings on the market (4,7 out of 5) in the latest satisfaction surveys. Thanks to an LBO operation signed at the end of 2022, Richard Thiery and Yves Maurel therefore proposed to their executives to invest with them in a management holding company; they also opened a fund intended for employees. All managers seized this opportunity, as did more than 90% of employees, which testifies to the exceptional commitment and cohesion of “Team GT2i”.

A smooth transition

This transmission has been prepared for a long time: it constitutes a key component of the CSR approach initiated by the group in 2019. “With Richard, we have been seeking for several years to give more meaning to everyone's investment. If working in this sport constitutes an undeniable asset for the enthusiasts that we are, it does not differentiate us from our competitors. To strengthen everyone's involvement and attract the best talents, something unique was needed,” explains Yves Maurel.

“By being a partner,” continues Richard Thiery, “each employee becomes an actor in the success of the company, from which they can then benefit from the fruits of their development. He also becomes an ambassador for the GT2i brand and its values, and that’s what will make the difference.”

Although they distance themselves from daily management, Richard Thiery and Yves Maurel continue to watch over the group. They chair the Management Board, joined by Guillaume Galiana, an employee of the group since 2012 and appointed Managing Director, and Ludovic Martin, Associate Director in charge of strategic projects, alongside the house as a consultant since 2018. Together, the four leaders will manage the group strategy to achieve the ambitious objectives that the company has set for itself. The milestone of 22 million euros in turnover was reached this year, and the group intends to continue this momentum thanks to the accomplishment of great projects.
