The reveal of the next BMW M2 is fast approaching. The German brand has planned a presentation in October of the new generation of its compact sports car. This will be the last non-electrified M model. Before that, BMW continues to refine its copy by starting the testing phase on the circuit. The car underwent intensive dynamic testing at the Salzburgring circuit in Austria.

The Bavarian firm focused on driving dynamics and chassis during these tests. The new BMW M2 will be offered in rear-wheel drive, with performance similar to the BMW M2 CS, which offers a power of 450 hp. The engine is carried over from the M3 and M4 models. There will be two types of transmission available: a 6-speed manual gearbox and an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox. Sporty behavior will be reinforced by the adaptive M suspension. The braking system will also come from the M3 and M4 models.

The sporty and dynamic appearance of the German compact will be complemented by various special equipment options. For example, a carbon roof will be available, which will, among other things, further reduce weight. The M carbon bucket seats for the driver and front passenger, also available as an option, further underline the track look. The new BMW M2 will go on sale in April 2023.
