Lotus is celebrating in the year 2022. This marks the 50the anniversary of the Drivers/Constructors double obtained thanks in particular to Emerson Fittipaldi, champion in 1972 for the first time in his career. To celebrate these two titles obtained 50 years ago, the English manufacturer decided to produce a very limited series of its Evija.

Thus, Lotus gave birth to the Evija Fittipaldi dressed in a black and gold dress, recalling the historic colors of the Lotus Type 72 used in F1. In this limited edition of 8 examples of the English electric hypercar we find some features of the car in question in the image of a rotating dial made from recycled aluminum from the Type 72 in addition to the hand-sewn signature on the dashboard.

Note that the 8 Evija Fittipaldi which will leave the Hethel workshops in the United Kingdom will be built by hand. All are already sold with the first customers delivered in early 2023 according to Lotus estimates.

« It's fantastic to be back in Hethel for such a special occasion as this, welcomes Emerson Fittipaldi. I really enjoyed being part of this project and it was a wonderful experience revealing the car to some of its new owners. Having the opportunity to drive both the Evija Fittipaldi and my championship-winning Type 72 on the Hethel test track was an incredible experience."

With an electric motor in each wheel in addition to a 93 kWh battery, the Evija Fittipaldi offers a power of 1500 kW, or a little more than 2000 horsepower. The English hypercar goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and 0 to 300 km/h in less than 9 for a maximum speed estimated at 350 km/h and a range of around 400 kilometers. Jenson Button had the honor of testing the car on the Hethel test track.
