Before we talk about WTCR, what will we see new in ETCR in 2022?

We are going to make it even easier for the public to understand. We will use international sports codes to strengthen the tournament side. We will no longer talk about heats, but about quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. There will no longer be a draw to determine the grid for the first races, qualifying will return. We want to preserve the spectacular side of sport and make it more understandable for everyone.

Will the WTCR evolve towards hybrid, as the WRC in 2022?

Yes, there are projects in progress. There will be a transformation of the WTCR in the near future. It certainly won't be all-electric like the ETCR, but we will see a transition. Since last season, the discipline has used biofuel, but it is not enough. The WTCR is expected to switch to hybrid beyond 2023.

Does the 2022 WTCR calendar herald a return to normal?

Yes, we are back with iconic dates on the calendar. I am obviously thinking of the Pau Grand Prix. It was important for us to make it a joint event with the ETCR in order to recreate this tradition of touring cars in the streets of Pau. Portugal is also a round that everyone is waiting for, it's a real party. Sochi takes its place in the calendar for the long term, the 2021 race was excellent.

WTCR 2022 Calendar:

April 9-10: Most (Czech Republic)
May 7-8: Pau
May 26-28: Nürburgring (Germany)
June 11-12: Budapest (Hungary)
June 25-26: Motorland Aragon (Spain)
July 2-3: Vila Real (Portugal)
August 6-7: Sochi (Russia)
October 8-9: Inje (South Korea)
November 5-6: Ningbo (China)
November 18-20: Macau
