After presenting the GT3 version at the Paris Motor Show, Audi unveiled the new version of the R8 reserved for tourism.
The Ingolstadt mount will still be powered by an atmospheric V10 available in two power levels equipped with a particle filter. This block is identical to that used on the GT3 and GT4 version in competition. The “civilian” R8 shares about half of its parts with the R8 LMS GT3.
If the engineers of the manufacturer at Les Rings obtained improved power on the mechanical part, they also worked on the suspensions in order to improve stability and precision. The driver will be able to select the most suitable driving mode between “Comfort”, “Auto”, “Dynamic” and “Individual” mode. The R8 V10 performance quattro version offers three additional modes with “Dry”, “Wet” and “Snow” for dry, rain and snow.
The new R8 V10 takes 1,5m less to go from 0 to 100km/h and stops 5m sooner when launched from 200km/h.
The standard rims are 19 inches but an option with 20 inch rims is offered. The customer can also opt for ceramic brakes rather than the steel brakes offered as standard.
