BMW M evolves with the times. The Munich brand's sports car division has seen part of its future outlined by the Vision M Next concept.
Hybrid car, new engine technologies remaining a major focus of manufacturers in recent times, whether for production or competition cars (BMW being engaged with Andretti in Formula E), this study takes up elements evoking certain legendary models of the brand.
The gullwing doors actually refer to another concept, the BMW Turbo, presented in the 70s.
On the powertrain side, there are two electric motors, one per axle offering either “simple propulsion” or all-wheel drive, coupled to a four-cylinder turbo thermal unit whose power is transmitted to the rear wheels.
600 hp are thus available, with a maximum range in electric mode of 100 km. A BOOST + mode offers extra power on demand, with the car suggesting the best time to activate the device.
In terms of exterior design, the front part incorporates imposing air intakes and a front “fin” made from recycled carbon. The interior offers memory seats, or a head-up display with augmented reality.
