Coronavirus – Le Mans Classic postponed to 2021

The tenth edition of Le Mans Classic will not take place this summer. Scheduled for Thursday July 2 to Sunday July 5, the flagship event of the Peter Auto season has been postponed until next year – from July 1 to 4 – due to the coronavirus. Spectators who have already reserved their tickets will keep their access for next year or will have the possibility of being refunded.

“Le Mans Classic is an international event which brings together nearly 200 spectators in one place, said Patrick Peter, president of Peter Auto. As you can imagine, maintaining the event on the original dates in the current context was therefore not possible. We have therefore, together with our partners and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, decided to postpone Le Mans Classic to 2021 where everyone will be able to fully enjoy this magnificent retrospective of the finest hours of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. »

The Le Mans Classic usually occurs every two years and the organizers have not yet specified whether this postponement would change the frequency of the event.

“The Le Mans Classic is in more than one way a historic event, recalled Pierre Fillon, president of the ACO. To organize it optimally, safety of all and quality of all services are necessary. Today, in the current context, we could not meet these priority criteria; postponement was the obvious solution. Looking ahead to 2021, we are already looking forward to seeing you all. Take care of yourself, yours. »

The Covid-19 pandemic has greatly disrupted Peter Auto's schedule. The organizer of the historic events had already canceled Spa-Classic and the Grand Prix de l'Âge d'Or, scheduled on the Dijon-Prenois circuit (Côte-d'Or).
