Giovanni Tommaso Sgro appointed head of Maserati Corse

Maserati knows the name of its new head of the Maserati Corse department. It is the Italian-American, Giovanni Tommaso Sgro who will take responsibility for the sporting dimension of the Italian manufacturer. He will work under the leadership of Davide Grasso, CEO of Maserati and also Jean Marc Finot, vice-president of Stellantis Motorsport. As a reminder, the trident brand has become a subsidiary of the Stellantis Group since January 16, 2021.  

The new strong man in motor racing at Maserati Corse arrives with a well-rounded CV in the field of marketing. Giovanni Tommaso Sgro has already worked in motor racing with a seven-year collaboration with NASCAR, Grand Am and Rolex 24.  

One of Giovanni Tommaso Sgro's first major projects remains the Formula E. Maserati has announced its debut in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for the 2023 season and will become the first Italian manufacturer to enter the competition.
