Announced in 2017 under the name Mercedes-AMG Project ONE, the Mercedes-AMG ONE will soon be sent to the track, or rather to the road. After several years of development and testing, the German hypercar is finally ready for production. At least that's what the German manufacturer announced.

« The Mercedes-AMG ONE is the most ambitious project we have ever undertaken – from development to production, Tip Philipp Schiemer, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. It marks a new high point in Mercedes-AMG’s successful strategic development towards an electrified future of driving performance. Producing the exclusive small series is a truly unique challenge. For the first time, the hypercar takes current hybrid technology from Formula 1 from the track to the road and combines overwhelming performance with exemplary efficiency. This world premiere is now becoming a reality thanks to the excellent teamwork between Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach, the Formula 1 experts at Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth and our production partner Multimatic. The whole team is very proud to have launched production of the first customer vehicles."

The first deliveries expected soon

In total, only 275 examples of the Mercedes-AMG ONE will be built on the production line in Coventry (West Midlands). No fewer than 50 specialists will work on each model of the German hypercar, production of which will be divided into 16 point ranging from the engine to the hybrid system through body assembly. After each point, “ thorough quality checks » will be carried out to ensure that each of the 275 units follows the specifications.

Each model of the Mercedes-AMG ONE will be powered by a 6L turbo-hybrid V1.6 directly from the technology used in F1. The internal combustion engine produces 574 hp and is coupled to 4 electric motors for a total power estimated at 1063 hp! This will be based on a monocoque chassis produced by Multimatic. On the scale it weighs 1 kg, or a power ratio of 695 hp per kilo.

In terms of performance, Mercedes announces 0 to 100 km/h in 2,9 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 7,0 seconds and 0 to 300 km/h in 15,6 seconds, for a speed maximum (restricted) to 352 km/h.

The first customers should receive their Mercedes-AMG ONE during this 2e half of the year. Note that the 275 copies planned have already found their future owner. Each of them paid 2,75 million euros to obtain it.
