Range Rover

The king's return

Whatever your idea of SUVs, the “Range” remains a machine apart. Launched in 1970, this large, somewhat snobbish English 4x4 still stands out from its many current competitors with such pure design and philosophy. As it moves to its fifth generation of model, in a context where the Jaguar-Land Rover group is restructuring, the Range Rover still has as much effect with its minimalist dress despite its gargantuan dimensions (5,05 meters long in normal chassis, 5,25 meters in long chassis). Note that its large carcass hides the best aerodynamic Cx in the category (0,30) and that the machine has an interior experienced in high technologies. Offering more limousine comfort than ever, the Range Rover also retains the option of the large V8 under the hood (a 4.4-liter biturbo block of BMW origin developing 530 hp). But it will offer two hybrid versions and, from 2024, a 100% electric version. Prices start at 122 euros for diesel and 600 euros for V139… excluding penalty of 000 euros.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The big Eight

Toyota bZ4X

Not an easy first name

Everyone praises Toyota for its hybrid models, popularized across the planet since the arrival of the first Prius at the end of the 1990s. But do you know many fully electric Toyotas? No, it's normal, the Japanese manufacturer is one of the rare automobile brands in the world to have never yet marketed a model equipped with this technology (its only zero-emission vehicles use a fuel cell). But now, the giant of the automobile industry is finally launching its first electric model on the market. The bZ4X, whose name resembles the passage of a cat on a computer keyboard, is included in the new “Toyota Beyond Zero” range reserved for models without thermal engines. Taking the form of a compact SUV, the bZ4X will develop between 204 and 217 hp depending on whether you choose traction or four-wheel drive. Thanks to the 71,4 kWh batteries, the maximum range will exceed 450 km.

Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge

Happy Halloween

You shouldn't mistake a Rolls-Royce for a Bentley. If the Crewe brand's cars can be reasonably sporty when asked, a Rolls-Royce is only interested in producing the best possible comfort and the highest degree of refinement. There are, however, a few small exceptions to this principle: the models from the “Black Badge” series, which add a little extra dynamism and power. The Ghost, the brand's "entry-level" limousine (we are still talking about a machine starting at more than 300 euros) thus sees its 000-liter twin-turbo V12 go from 6.75 to 571 hp by receiving the treatment Black Badge. It also benefits from firmer damping as well as modified gearbox management. Everything to give it what it needs to calmly face a Bentley Flying Spur W600 in a mountain pass…

Lamborghini Aventador

End clap

A little over ten years ago, Lamborghini unveiled the Aventador LP700-4 at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. With absolutely breathtaking style and a 12 hp naturally aspirated V700, it gave the Ferrari 599 GTB of the time and managed to make people forget the sublime Murcielago that it replaced. A decade later, the Aventador can no longer compete with the best supercars on the planet in terms of performance. But it still impresses with its design, the character of its engine and the very special driving sensations it provides. Alas, the 600 copies of the latest Ultimae series have all found buyers. It is therefore no longer possible to buy a new Lamborghini Aventador on the market. Let us console ourselves by remembering that its replacement, hybrid and equipped with a brand new naturally aspirated V12, will arrive in 2023. But will it make people dream as much as the Aventador?

Screw
