The Tour Auto does not forget its history. In 2021, the historic event will begin as is customary from Paris on April 19, to end on the Côte d'Azur in Nice on April 24.
The capital of the Alpes-Maritimes hosted the very first edition of the Tour Auto in its “Classic” version relaunched by Patrick Peter in 1992. Half a century earlier, the Automobile Club de Nice (ACN) distinguished itself by resuming his account the organization of the Tour de France Automobile between 1951 and 1986.
Between these two cities, the route will give pride of place to the east of France. Four circuits are on the program, with the return of Lédenon (Gard), canceled at the last minute in 2020, or the extension of Paul-Ricard (Var), place of arrival in 2020. The Dijon-Prenois circuit (Côte-d 'Or) is also among the pillars of the event. Finally, the Bresse track (Saône-et-Loire) makes a notable entry into the program.
Throughout the 1 km planned, the historic cars will travel to Beaune (Côte-d'Or), Aix-les-Bains (Savoie), Valence (Drôme), Nîmes (Gard) before finishing in Nice. Ten special stages have been announced, with a detailed itinerary kept secret until March 31.
