Lee Iacocca, who contributed to the success of the legendary Ford Mustang, has died at the age of 94.

Lee Iacocca has died

His name will remain closely linked to Ford and Chrysler. lee iacocca, who notably participated in the Ford Mustang project within the Dearborn brand, died at the age of 94.

The American, who evolved in the field of engineering before moving into marketing, became president of Ford Motor Company, before turning to Chrysler, largely relaunching a brand close to bankruptcy. The American public notably remembers his famous slogan: “If you can find a better car, buy it”

Iacocca remained president of Chrysler until 1992. “The company is saddened by the news of the death of Lee Iacocca, indicates FIAT-Chrysler in a press release. He played a historic role in managing the crisis at Chrysler and transformed it into a real competitive force.

He was one of the great leaders of our company and the automotive industry as a whole. He also played a profound and tireless role on the national stage as a businessman and philanthropist.

The Ford Mustang, one of its greatest successes, has made a strong comeback in the world of motorsport in recent years, representing the Blue Oval in Nascar or even in Supercars in Australia.
