Lotus officially unveils the Evija

After the “Light is right” dear to founder Colin Chapman, could Lotus’ new adage be “Electric is right”? The English brand has just unveiled its latest creation, the Evija, adopting 100% electric propulsion.

This hypercar, the first 100% electric in the United Kingdom, develops the power of… 2000 hp. The powertrain is thus composed of four electric motors of 500 hp each (two per axle for all-wheel drive), coupled to a battery designed by Williams Advanced Engineering, specialized in this type of product after having worked on the first generation batteries of the Formula E.

With the technology embedded in the battery, recharging can offer 80% in 12′ with the highest current power (350 kW), the announced autonomy being 400 km. 340 km/h is reached in terms of top speed, the 300 km/h mark can be crossed in nine seconds.

The 100% carbon fiber chassis is fitted with a body offering active aerodynamics, including a DRS-type rear spoiler, for a total weight of 1680 kg.

A maximum of 130 copies, at just over €1 each, will be produced from 880 on the other side of the Channel.
