Marco Mattiacci currently acts as a consultant on behalf of the manufacturer Aston Martin Lagonda, bought in early 2020 by Canadian businessman Lawrence Stroll.
His role, which is not permanent, does not however concern the Aston Martin team. F1 Team relaunched this season after more than 60 years of absence on the foundations of the Racing Point team.
Aged 50, Mattiacci has a wealth of experience in the automotive industry with an early career at Jaguar then a notable stint at Ferrari where he headed the North American branch before replacing Stefano Domenicali who resigned in April 2014. His stint at the head of the Team will coincide with the Prancing Horse's first difficult steps into the current hybrid era.
Mattiacci was removed in November of the same year to make way for Maurizio Arrivabene following a palace revolution which also marked the end of the reign of Luca di Montezemolo in Maranello (Italy).
During his short stint in F1, Mattiacci still oversaw the recruitment of Sebastian Vettel, poached from Red Bull to succeed Fernando Alonso, who nevertheless had a contract until 2016.
His last known position was that of commercial director and head of brand management for the company Faraday Future.
