Faced with the coronavirus pandemic, the automotive world is mobilizing. We knew the masks made by Stand 21 or the Pitlane Project by the teams of Formula 1, there are now auctions against Covid-19. Porsche decided to sell the last 911 called 991, a very beautiful Speedster.
This car is the last example to leave the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen workshop dedicated to the 991 version of the famous German coupe. The Speedster benefits from a 4.0 horsepower 510-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.
This Speedster will be auctioned on the specialist RM Sotheby's website from Wednesday April 15 until April 22. The estimate is around 250 euros but the sale price could easily exceed this stage, because of its rarity (less than 000 copies) and the good cause, but also the unique package offered by the German firm: a unique book, a limited edition Porsche Design watch and a guided tour of the Weissach test center with the GT and 2 product managers.
The money raised will be donated to United Way Worldwide's Covid-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund, a US-based entity. The American branch of Porsche, based in Atlanta, also participates in a program to deliver meals to students in precarious situations.
