When Porsche wants to present a new model, big means are out. So, to announce the arrival of the Taycan, the first 100% electric car from the German manufacturer, not one nor two but three simultaneous press conferences around the world were organized this September 4!
The vehicle parked itself in front of a field of solar panels in Germany, Niagara Falls in Canada and an ocean filled with wind turbines in China. The eco-friendly fiber is therefore obvious, but what interests us is what is under the hood… well, on the two axles.
The Turbo S version (even if there is no turbo…) can deliver up to 560 kW, or 761 horsepower ! The Turbo version makes do with 500 kW (680 horsepower, that's not bad). 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in barely 2''8 in the Turbo S version, and the Turbo does it in 3''2. The maximum speed is not the priority because it stops at 260 km/h. It must be said that the Taycan weighs 2 kg.
The range is officially displayed at 412 kilometers for the Turbo S, and 450 kilometers for the Turbo. At the end of this journey, it will be necessary to recharge the 800 volt batteries (compared to 400 for other electric vehicles). And then it's less funny: you'll have to wait 40 hours for charging at home... but only 25 minutes on an Ionity network terminal !
The price list looks exactly like the Porsche Panamera : count 155 euros for the Turbo version, and 552 euros for the Turbo S. Orders are already open. Deliveries will take place at the end of 189.
