Red Bull and Aston Martin reveal more details on the AM-RB 001 hypercar

Presented last year by Aston Martin et Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the AM-RB 001 made a strong impression. This Wednesday, the technical characteristics and several partners integrated into the project were revealed.

First of all, it is Cosworth which will take an important part in the development of the British hypercar, by making its contribution to the engine block. If the naturally aspirated V12 architecture had already been revealed, the engine selected will ultimately have a displacement of 6,5 liters.

To shift the power, Ricardo worked on the seven-speed gearbox with paddle shifters. Still at the powertrain level, the Rimac company will take care of the batteries for the hybrid system.

On the chassis side, Multimatic will provide its expertise for the carbon fiber MonoCell structure. The company had already worked with Aston Martin on the One-77 and Vulcan projects, and also distinguished itself in competition in IMSA with its latest DPi designed with Riley.

Alcon and Surface Transforms will provide their solutions for the brake calipers and discs, while Bosch will work on the engine management unit (ECU), traction control system and ESP stability system.

“Just like in Formula 1, designing, engineering and building a car like the AM-RB 001 is a massive team effort, underlines Adrian Newey, technical manager of Red Bull Racing.

To achieve great things, you need to surround yourself with the best people. Experience, creativity, energy, diligence and perfectionism are absolutely essential qualities in all areas of the project. Having great technical partners like those who work with us is both reassuring and motivating. Together we aim to produce an innovative work of art. »
