T.50: Gordon Murray's ultimate supercar

Father of the legendary McLaren F1, Gordon Murray decided in 2017 to launch his own automobile brand: Gordon Murray Automotive. This new firm seeks to combine perfection and power in an extraordinary racing car to allow its future buyer to feel like they are in a racing car. So, after several years of work, the South African finally brought his own supercar into the world: the T.50.

A car with striking similarities to the McLaren F1 equipped with a tough 12 naturally aspirated V3,9 from the English engine manufacturer Cosworth delivering a power of 663 horsepower for a torque of 467 Nm. To top it off, Gordon Murray decided to equip it with 'a six-speed H-shaped manual gearbox.

“From the first touch of the titanium accelerator pedal to the scream of the V12 at 12.100 rpm, the driver experience will surpass any supercar ever built. No other road car can offer such a combination of power and instantaneous responsiveness in such a direct and targeted manner, while remaining comfortable, refined and usable on a daily basis,” relishes the progenitor of the overpowering 50 kilo T.968.

Very important in a sports car, the aerodynamics of the T.50 have been meticulously worked on. Above the rear diffuser, Gordon Murray installed a 400 mm fan reminiscent of the Brabham BT46, also the work of the engineer Murray, to accentuate the ground effect.

Ground effect further supported by the two rear spoilers. Thus, downforce is increased by 50% while drag is reduced by 12,5%. A whole bunch of technical elements that make this T.50 a unique supercar.

However, affording Gordon Murray's powerful machine is no easy feat. In fact, you will have to pay the modest sum of 2,6 million euros. In addition, production is limited to 100 copies. An exclusivity that its creator is delighted with.

“Only 100 customers will share my vision, a car created to improve the F1 formula in every way possible. After 30 years of technological advancements, the time has come to design the greatest driver's car. I believe no other company could deliver what we will bring to market in 2022, producing this British supercar will be my proudest moment.”
